Having a website in today’s age of technology is an absolutely essential component of a company’s marketing strategy. Unfortunately, many times the cost associated with setting up a professional website exceeds the company’s budget and they attempt to design a site on their own. And in most of these cases, the final product fails to promote the business effectively and attract new customers.

There are five key aspects of designing a website, and we will work closely with you to provide you with the design elements and marketing strategies to help your business succeed. We make the entire process simple for you, allowing you to focus on running your business.

Initial Consultation: Capture Vision, Create Branding

The first step is to arrange a personal meeting where we can discuss your business. We’ll want to identify your goals for setting up the site, the type of content you want to use, and your target audience. We’ll also want to develop an understanding of what you are looking for aesthetically on the site. It’s important for us to learn as much about your business and it’s equally as important for you to have a clear understanding of what you can expect from us. There is no cost and no obligation for this initial consultation.

Site Map Planning: Outline of Site Structure, Page Content & Links

The next step is for us to take all the information from our initial consultation and develop the site map. The site map will list all the main topics and sub-topics to be included in the site, and we will develop an outline of how the pages, content, and links will be established. A clearly developed site map allows your clients to easily navigate through your site. We’ll also develop the basic design elements of the site so that when we have our second meeting we can select the design and content that will be used on the site.

Design & Development: Visual Elements, Responsive Framework

This is where we combine your site content with the design elements to construct the site. We begin with the home page and then expand from there, developing the navigational structure for the entire site. We will provide you with visual updates along the way to learn what you like and don’t like about the site. This will help us to make sure that the finished site matches the original vision that you had for the site. All sites are built with perfectly fluid responsive framework, so your site will look great on any device or screen size.

Testing & Publishing: Coding Validation, FTP Upload to Internet

Once all of content and design elements are in place we will test every aspect of the site to ensure that it is fully functional. We will test all navigational links, email links, calendars, contact forms and scripts, and we will also ensure that all XHTML and CSS codes validate properly. We then test the site using several browsers and devices, including Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox and Safari browsers, and Android OS and Apple iOS devices. After performing one last check we will present the finished site to you. Once you have approved the site we will then use a file transfer protocol program to upload all your site data to our server and go live.

Monthly Maintenance: Software Updates, Database Backup

With your site now live on the internet there is still more work to be done. We routinely access the site’s administration area to perform software updates, test the functionality of all links, update the content management system, review all SEO elements, and conduct a monthly backup of all the site’s database files. If you want to add or update content to the site on your own, we can also provide you with special access to certain features without compromising the main structure and functionality of the site.
